Using the site
Every project works without an account, and signing in with Google or Microsoft is free. An account is for one person, and you look after the sign-in it uses. You must be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.
Please use the site as a person would: no automated scraping, no load meant to slow it down, and no getting around the limits each plan sets.
Your designs
The settings you choose, and the names you give your designs, are yours. We keep them only to show them back to you, as the Privacy page describes, and they go when you delete them or your account.
The projects themselves, the tools that turn your settings into a part, and the site are ours.
Licenses
Each project makes files to print: STLs. Here is what you may do with those files, and with the objects you print from them.
Personal license: everyone
- Print as many as you like for yourself, your home and your work, and to give away.
- Change the files for your own use.
- Not allowed: selling prints, or sharing, uploading or selling the files themselves.
Member license: with a Member or Founding Member plan
- Everything in the personal license.
- Sell physical prints of designs you made here, yourself: at markets, at fairs, in your own shop or online.
- You may sell prints while your plan is active. Prints you made while it was active may still be sold after it ends.
- Still not allowed: sharing, uploading or selling the files, or selling a design as a digital product.
- Marketplaces have rules of their own, some stricter than this license (Etsy asks that items be the seller’s own design). Following them is up to you.
Gridfinity is an open standard made by Zack Freedman under the MIT license. Nothing here limits what that license lets anyone do with the standard itself.
Paid plans
- Membership is paid every month or every year and renews by itself until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the account window; it ends at the end of the time you’ve paid for, and nothing more is charged.
- Founding Member is one payment for membership for as long as we offer it. It is sold to the first 100 people. It includes what Members get as new things arrive, except any feature that costs us money every time it runs, which may be offered separately.
- Prices are shown before you pay, in US dollars. Tax is added where it applies.
- Purchases are sold and processed by Link, part of Stripe, as the seller of record: it takes the payment, handles the tax and sends receipts, and its own terms cover the payment. Link keeps your card details; we keep only that you have a plan, and its dates.
- If a price changes, we email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and the new price applies from then on.
- Money back, and how to cancel, are on the Refunds page. Questions about a payment go to support@oddlyhelpful.com.
Your prints
You print the parts, on your printer, in your material, at your settings, so how a part fits and how strong it is depends on all of those. Each design offers a fit test to print first. Don’t rely on a printed part where it failing could hurt someone or damage something valuable, or for food, for children’s toys, or to carry a load, unless you have tested it for that yourself.
The small print
- The site and its files are provided as they are, without warranties, as far as the law allows.
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. You can delete yours at any time, which also cancels a membership.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
- When these terms change, the date below changes with them, and we email anyone with a paid plan about changes that matter.
